Pressure plate surface
1. Normal wear; 2. Increased wear; 3. Increased finger wear; 4. Broken or deformed spring pins
Attention! Remove dust from the wear of the linings with a special cleaner. The use of gasoline or thinner is not allowed.
When describing the procedures, it is assumed that the work is carried out without removing the engine, and the transmission is removed.
Removing
1. Raise the front of the car.
2. Remove the master cylinder.
3. Jack up the engine and remove the transmission. If the engine is supported from below, then keep in mind that the oil receiver is located near the sump and can be easily damaged if the sump is deformed.
4. The fork and release bearing can still be removed.
5. To fix the clutch, use the mandrel.
6. Lock the clutch.
7. Find match marks (letters X or O), if missing, mark the position of the clutch on the flywheel.
8. Loosen the 6 bolts gradually and evenly, unscrew the bolts and remove the clutch.
Examination
1. As a rule, only the friction disc needs to be replaced. However, if disk oiling is detected, then the cause must be found and eliminated.
2. Check the surface of the flywheel for signs of wear, metal spalling, deep wear. It is recommended to remove the flywheel and grind regardless of the surface condition.
3. Check the condition of the guide bearing.
4. Check the condition of the friction disc surface, springs, loose rivets.
5. Together with the friction disc, the release bearing also changes.
6. Check the surface condition of the pressure plate, diaphragm spring and spring pins (see fig. Pressure plate surface). Minor defects in the disc can be sanded with sandpaper; in case of significant defects, replace the clutch.
Installation
1. Thoroughly clean the flywheel and clutch. Install the clutch by aligning the marks and tighten the bolts by hand.
2. Center the disc with a mandrel that should fit into the pilot bearing and gradually and evenly tighten the clutch bolts in the order shown in the photo.
3. Lubricate the release bearing groove, the friction surfaces of the fork and the splines of the gearbox input shaft with refractory grease. Install the bearing. Install transmission.
