1. (A240E, A241E, A245E and A540N) Check for fault codes.
2 Check tire pressure and other preliminary checks.
3. Check gear shifting Check the electrical part of the control system, if the shifting is normal.
4. Perform the following checks:
- a) Checking the engine and torque converter with the vehicle fully braked.
- b) Road Test Make sure that the fault is with the automatic transmission itself. If there is noise or vibration, possible sources could be the compressor, engine, drive shafts, tires, etc.
- c) Hydraulic testing Measure the pressure in the lines and perform a general check of the fluid supply circuits.
- d) Checking the delay in gear engagement. Check the wear of the gearbox components (locking clutches, brakes and planetary gears).
