Note:
- Malfunctions that occur in the gearbox can be associated either with the engine, or with the control system, or with the gearbox itself. Therefore, before starting the check, it is necessary to determine the area of their occurrence.
- Troubleshooting should start with the simplest operations and continue in order of increasing complexity.
1. (A240E, A241E, A245E and A540H) Check for trouble codes.
2 Check tire pressure and other preliminary checks.
3. Check the gear shift Check the electrical part of the control system, if the shift is correct.
4. Carry out the following checks:
- A) Checking the engine and torque converter with the car fully braked.
- b) Road test Check that the problem is with the automatic transmission itself. If noise or vibration is present, possible sources may be the compressor, engine, cardan shafts, tires, etc.
- V) Hydraulic Test Measure line pressure and perform general check of fluid circuits.
- G) Checking the transmission delay. Check gearbox parts for wear (lockup clutches, brakes and planetary gears).
