Combination Switch Test
For disassembly of the combination switch, see above.
Models up to 1996
Check the conductivity between the outputs of the connectors according to the table.
Models after 1996
If the conductivity is not as described, replace the switch.
Checking the intermittent operation of the purifier
Models up to 1996
1. Set the switch to position "INT".
2. Set the interval control (some models) into position "FAST".
3 Connect "+" battery to the output "B18", "-" to the conclusion "B16".
4. Connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the terminal "B7", negative - to "B16" and check that the voltmeter shows battery voltage.
5. After connecting the output "4" with conclusion "16" connector connect terminal "4" with conclusion "18".
Check that the voltage indicated by the voltmeter drops to 0 and recovers to battery voltage in the following time:
If the switch does not operate as described, replace it.
Models after 1996
1. Set the switch to position "INT".
2. Set the interval control to "FAST".
3. Connect "+" battery to the output "10", "-" to the conclusion "7".
4. Connect the positive wire of the voltmeter to the terminal "3", negative - to the conclusion "7" and check that the voltmeter shows battery voltage.
5. After connecting the output "11" with conclusion "10" connector, connect the output "10" with conclusion "7".
Check that the voltage indicated by the voltmeter drops to 0 and returns to battery voltage after 3.3±1 seconds.
If the switch does not operate as described, replace it.
Checking the operation of the washer switch
1. Connect "+" battery to the output "B18", to the conclusion "B16" (in models after 1996 - to the conclusions "10" And "7").
2. Connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the terminal "B7", negative - to "B16" (in models after 1996 - to the conclusions "3" And "7").
3. While pressing the washer switch, check that the voltage on the voltmeter changes from 0 to battery voltage after about 0.5 seconds. after switching on and drops to 0 after 2.5 seconds after switching off.
Checking the windshield wiper motor
Note: Pin numbers in parentheses are for post-1996 models.
1. Low speed: Plug in "+" battery to the output "3" ("1") connector, to output "1" ("5") and check that the motor is running at low speed.
2. High speed: Plug in "+" battery to the output "2" ("4") connector, "-" to the conclusion "1" ("5") and check that the motor is running at high speed.
3. Checking the stop in the extreme position:
- A) At low speed, stop the motor in any position except the extreme position by disconnecting the wire from the output "1".
- b) Connect the pins "1" And "3".
- V) Connect "+" batteries to output "2", battery output "5", check that the motor starts again and stops at the end position.
Note, the procedure is described for release models from 1996. For early models, the verification procedure is carried out similarly.
Check of work of the electric motor of a cleaner of back glass
1. Connect "+" battery to the output "1" motor connector, and "-" to the conclusion "3" and to the mass of the electric motor. Check engine operation.
2. Disconnect the negative wire from the terminal "3", and check that the motor has switched off in the end position of the wiper.
If the motor does not work as described, replace it.
Check of work of the electric motor of a cleaner of glass of a door of a back (station wagon)
1 Connect "+" battery to terminals "1" And "3" motor connector, and "-" to the conclusion "4". Check engine operation.
2. Disconnect the positive wire from the output "1" and check that the electric motor has switched off in the end position of the cleaner.
If the motor does not work as described, replace it.
Checking the intermittent operation of the rear window wiper motor
Connect "+" battery to the output "1" motor connector, "-" to the conclusion "2" and to the mass of the electric motor. Check that the engine is running intermittently at intervals of approximately 9...15 seconds.
Checking the washer motor (models without rear window wiper)
Connect "+" battery to the output "2" motor connector, "-" to the conclusion "1" and check the operation of the motor.
Checking the washer motor (models with rear window wiper)
1. Connect "+" battery to terminal 2 of the motor connector, "-" to the conclusion "1" and check the operation of the motor.
2. Reverse the negative wire from the output "1" for withdrawal "3" and check the operation of the motor.
Attention: do not turn on the electric motor for a period of time exceeding 20 seconds, otherwise the winding may burn out.
