Checking the tachometer on a car


  • a) Connect the adjustment control tachometer and start the engine.

Note: Reversing the polarity when connecting the tachometer will result in failure of the transistors and diodes.

  • b) Compare the readings of the control and standard tachometers.

If the error level exceeds the permissible limit, replace the tachometer.

Checking the speed sensor



Measure the resistance between terminals "1" and "2". Resistance is 730 Ohm.



If the resistance differs from the nominal value, replace the sensor.
