Checking the ignition lock
If the conductivity does not match the table, replace the ignition switch.
Checking the sensor of the key left in the lock
1. Check for continuity between terminals "1" And "2" connector when the sensor is in position "ON" (key inserted).
2. Check for continuity between terminals "1" And "2" connector when the sensor is in position "OFF" (key out). If the conductivity is not as described, replace the switch.
Checking the Key Left in the Lock Warning System (models since 1996)
1. Check the operation of the integrated relay.
- A) Connect the battery to the terminals "1" (+) And "5", "6" And "10" (-).
- b) Check for an audible signal.
- V) Disconnect the negative wire from the terminal "6".
- G) Check that the beeper is turned off.
- d) Connect the negative cable from the battery to the "6".
- e) Disconnect the negative wire from the terminal "5".
- and) Check that the beeper is turned off.
If operation differs from description, replace relay.
2. Check the relay circuit.
Disconnect the relay from the #1 fuse box and check the fuse side circuit against the table.
If the circuit is as described, replace the relay.
If the circuit does not match the description, look for a malfunction in other elements.
