Installation of gearbox C50 and C52 [Toyota Corona T190]

1. Align the splines of the primary shaft and the driven clutch disc, and install the gearbox on the engine. Tightening torque:
  • Bolt M12 64 Nm
  • Bolt M10 46 Nm

2. Install the rear engine mount bracket and secure it with three bolts. Tightening torque 77 Nm.

3. Connect the left engine mount.
  • a) Align the gearbox and engine with the support.
  • b) Install and tighten the two bolts and nuts. Tightening torque:
    • Bolt 64 Nm
    • Nut 72 Nm
  • c) Install the left engine mount bracket.

4. Connect the rear engine mount.
  • a) Install and tighten the rear support bolt. Tightening torque 87 Nm.
  • b) Install and tighten the two nuts and bolt. Tightening torque 72 Nm.
  • c) Install two plugs.

5. Install the bracket.
  • a) Install the bracket and tighten bolt B by hand.
  • b) Tighten the bolts in alphabetical order. Tightening torque 23 Nm.

6. Install the starter.
  • a) Install the starter and tighten the lower mounting bolt. Tightening torque 39 Nm.
  • b) Connect the wiring to the starter.

7. Install the engine mount center support beam.
  • a) Install the beam and tighten the four bolts. Tightening torque 35 Nm.
  • b) Attach the front engine mount and tighten the three bolts. Tightening torque 72 Nm.


  • c) Install two plugs.
  • d) Install the beam guard and tighten the two bolts.


  • d) Install and tighten the bolt. Tightening torque 72 Nm.
  • c) Install the plug.
  • g) Connect the air conditioner pipe clamp.

8. Install the drive shafts.



9. Install the exhaust pipe.
  • a) Install new gaskets.
  • b) Install the exhaust pipe.
  • c) Install and tighten the four bolts and nuts. Tightening torque 43 Nm.
  • d) Tighten the two exhaust pipe mounting bolts.
  • d) Connect the oxygen sensor connector.

10. Pour transmission oil into the gearbox. Transmission oil:
  • API Group GL-3, 4 or GL-5
  • Viscosity SAE 75W-90
  • Filling capacity 2.6 l

11. Install the engine protection cover.

12. Install the front wheels and lower the vehicle. Tightening torque 103 Nm.

13. Install and tighten the upper starter mounting bolt. Tightening torque 39 Nm.

Install and tighten the two upper transmission mounting bolts. Tightening torque is 64 Nm.

14. Connect the speed sensor connector.

15. Connect the transmission control cables.
  • a) Install the holders on the cables.
  • b) Connect the cables with washers and cotter pins.

16. Install the ground wire.

17. Connect the reversing light sensor connector.

18. Install the pipe clamp and clutch slave cylinder.
  • c) Install the clutch hydraulic tube clamp.
  • 6) Install the clutch slave cylinder. Tightening torque 12 Nm.



19. Install the air filter.

20. Install fuse box #2, battery and connect the positive terminal.



21. Connect the negative battery terminal.

22. Check the front wheel alignment angles.

23. Conduct a road test.
