3. The oil level should be checked before driving or approximately 5 minutes after the engine is turned off. If you check it after a trip, the honor of the oil will remain on the upper elements of the engine, not having time to drain down. This will lead to inaccurate readings.
4. Remove the probe from the tube and carefully wipe the tip with a clean rag or paper towel. Insert a clean probe into the tube until it stops and remove it again. Check the oil level at the end of the dipstick. The level must correspond to the area between the lower and upper marks (pic. 4.4).
Pic. 4.4. The oil level should be approximately the top mark on the dipstick. If not, add oil (approximately 1 liter of oil is required to raise the level from the lower mark to the upper one)
5. Approximately 1 liter of oil is required to raise the level from the bottom mark to the top. Do not allow the level to fall below the lower mark, as «oil starvation» may result in engine damage. Conversely, an increased oil level in the engine (adding oil above the top mark) may result in spark plug oil contamination, oil leakage, or seal failure.
6. To add oil, remove the screw cap from the cylinder head cover (pic. 4.6). Use a funnel to avoid spillage. After adding oil, screw on the cap and tighten it by hand. Start the engine and carefully inspect it for any leaks near the oil filter or drain plug. Stop the engine and check the oil level again, allowing sufficient time for the oil to drain from the top of the engine and from the cylinder head galleries.

7. Checking the oil level is an important preventive measure. A continuous drop in oil level indicates oil leakage from damaged seals, loose connections, worn O-rings or valve guides. If the oil is milky or contains water droplets, a head gasket failure may occur. The engine should be checked immediately. In addition, the condition of the oil should be checked. Each time you check the oil level, run your thumb and forefinger across the surface of the dipstick soaked in oil. If there are small particles of dirt or metal particles in the oil, it should be changed (see paragraph 8).
