Checking the engine oil level
When the engine is at operating temperature and turned off, check the oil level on the bayonet dipstick.
To obtain a correct reading, the vehicle must be stopped on level ground. After turning off the engine, wait a few minutes for the oil to drain back to the bottom of the engine.
Remove the bayonet level indicator and wipe it with a clean cloth.
Re-insert the bayonet level indicator - press it as long as it goes in, otherwise the reading will be incorrect.
Remove the bayonet level indicator and look at the oil level at its end.
Attention! Be careful not to touch the hot exhaust pipe. If the level is below or only slightly above the low level, add engine oil of the same type.
Remove the filler cap and add engine oil in small amounts while checking the bayonet level indicator.
The approximate amount of oil required to fill the volume between the low level and the full level on the bayonet gauge is given below for reference. When the level reaches the required range, install the filler cap back and tighten it by hand.
