Vehicle checks
1. Checking on a cold engine (coolant temperature less than 80°C).
Turn on the ignition (ON) and make sure the fan is not spinning.
2. Checking on a warm engine (coolant temperature over 100°C).
A) Warm up the engine and make sure the air conditioner is turned off.
b) Make sure the fan turns on when the temperature is above 94°C and stops when the coolant temperature is 83°C.
3. Checking the fan motor.
A) Disconnect the fan connector.
b) Apply battery voltage to the fan motor leads and check that it rotates smoothly.
V) Check the resistance value in the circuit between the body and the electric motor.
- Rated value - 1.0 ohm
Checking the fan motor relay
1. Make sure there is continuity between the relay outputs and no continuity between the outputs "3"<->"4".
2. Apply voltage from the battery to the terminals "1"<->"2" relay and check for continuity between the terminals "3"<->"4".
