Positions on the switch (Up - up, Off - off, Down - down).
Replace the switch if the contact closure does not match the diagram.
The electric power window raises and lowers the side windows. It consists of switches, relays, electric motors, power window and wires.
The electric drive is activated either by the main switch on the driver's door or by remote switches on each of the doors. Lowering or lifting is controlled by the position of each of the switches. A reversible electric motor is mounted in each door.
The drive circuit is protected by a fuse and a circuit breaker. An individual circuit breaker is additionally mounted in each electric motor, so that if one drive fails, the drives of the remaining windows do not turn off.
The electric power window only works when the ignition is on. Most vehicles have a lockout switch that disables the power of other windows except the driver's (on parts of cars only rear windows).
The following are general troubleshooting procedures that you can perform yourself. If the malfunction cannot be eliminated with their help, then contact a car service.
Examination
1. If the power windows of all windows do not work, then first check the fuse and circuit breaker.
2. If the power windows of only the rear windows do not work, or the drive works only from the main switch, then check the contact closure of the interlock switch. If the contacts do not close, replace the switch.
3. Check the condition of the wiring between the switches and the fuse, repair if necessary.
4. If only one power window does not work, check the main switch and the inoperative window switch (except for the driver's).
5. If the power window operates only from one switch, then check the short circuit of the switch contacts according to the attached diagram. If results of check negative replace the switch.
6. If the switch is OK, then check the circuit between the switch and the motor.
7. If the same power window does not work from both switches, then remove the panel, turn on the power window and check the voltage at the switch and the electric motor.
8. If voltage is present on the electric motor, then disconnect the glass from the power window and check the freedom of its movement up and down. Check up also freedom of movement of a window regulator. If there is no damage and the glass moves freely, replace the motor. Otherwise lubricate parts or replace.
9. If there is no voltage at the motor, then check the wires from the switches to the motors. If a relay is provided in the circuit, then check the presence of voltage on the relay and its connection to ground.
10. When finished, check the operation of the power window.
