- A) Disconnect the connector from the parking brake applied sensor and low brake fluid level sensor.
- b) Ground the sensor connector (applying the parking brake) from the side of the wires.
- V) Start the engine. Check that the control lamp lights up.
- G) If the test lamp does not light, then check the lamp or wiring harness.
2. Checking the low brake fluid level sensor
- A) Remove tank cap and strainer.
- b) Disconnect the connector.
- V) Check for continuity between the terminals when the sensor is in position "OFF" (float in top position).
- G) Pump out liquid from a tank.
- d) Check for continuity between the connector pins when the sensor is in position "ON" (float in down position).
- e) Pour the liquid back into the reservoir. If the operation is not as described, replace the sensor.
3. Checking the parking brake indicator switch.
- A) Check for continuity between the terminals when the sensor is in position "ON" (button released).
- b) Check for continuity between the terminals when the sensor is in position "OFF" (button pressed).
