- A) Install the center support bearing on the front propeller shaft as shown.
- b) Install the plate washer on the front propeller shaft.
- V) Align the alignment marks on the rear flange and the front propeller shaft and install the flange.
- G) Install the front flange in a vise, install the bearing in place, securing it with a new nut and washer. Tightening torque 181 Nm.
- d) Loosen the nut.
- e) Tighten the nut again. Tightening torque 69 Nm.
- and) Using a hammer and chisel, lock the nut.
2. Install the coupler.
- A) Align the alignment marks and connect the front and rear driveshafts.
- b) Press the coupler by first installing the 3 plate washers and tightening the 6 fastening bolts.
Caution: Tighten the bolts evenly so as not to damage the flange.
- V) Remove 6 bolts and 3 washers and separate the propshaft rear flange from the coupler.
3. Check the coupler for damage.
4. Connect the front and rear driveshafts, install the 3 plate washers and use a socket wrench to pre-tighten the 6 mounting bolts.
Caution: To avoid damage to the coupling seal, place a rag in the location indicated by the arrows in the figure.
