Attention:
- The hub bearing can be damaged if it is subjected to the weight of the vehicle, such as when the vehicle is moved with the drive shaft removed. Therefore, if it is necessary to move the vehicle with the drive shaft removed, first fix the hub bearing as shown in the figure.
- After disengaging the drive shaft and hub, be careful not to damage the speed sensor teeth on the drive shaft.
1. Remove the rear wheel. Tightening torque 103 Nm.
2. Loosen the locknut.
- A) Remove cotter pin and locknut cap.
- b) Loosen the locknut by depressing the brake pedal. Tightening torque 228 Nm.
3. Remove the drive shaft.
- V) Put alignment marks on the drive shaft and output shaft of the differential.
- b) Remove the 4 nuts and disconnect the drive shaft from the differential output shaft. Tightening torque 69 Nm.
- V) Remove the drive shaft.
Note:
- Move the fist away from the vehicle and disconnect the drive shaft from the fist.
- Be careful not to damage the boot and rotor of the speed sensor (A8S).
Attention: disassembly and assembly of the rear drive shafts is carried out in the same way as the front drive shafts.
