Attention! Gasoline is highly flammable. Therefore, additional precautions must be taken when working on any part of the fuel system. See warning in paragraph 2.
1. Relieve fuel pressure (see paragraph 2).
2. Disconnect the mass wire from the battery (see paragraph 1 of chapter 5).
3. Remove the engine cover (see «Intake manifold - removal and installation» in chapter 2A or 2B).
Models with a four-cylinder engine
4. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel pressure pulsation damper (see paragraph 4).
5. Turn out two bolts of fastening of a damper of a pulsation (pic. 14.5) and remove the suppressor from the fuel rail.
Pic. 14.5. To disconnect the pressure pulsation damper from the fuel rail on models with a four-cylinder engine, remove the two bolts shown
6. Remove the old pulsation dampener O-ring.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Use a new O-ring and tighten the pulsation damper mounting bolts to the prescribed torque specified in Specifications at the beginning of this chapter.
Models with V6 engine
8. On models with a V6 engine, the pulsation damper (pic. 14.8) screwed into the fuel rail for the rear row of cylinders. Simply unscrew the pulsation dampener from the fuel rail.
Ryas. 14.8. To remove the pulsation damper on V6 medals (1) from the rear fuel rail, simply unscrew it with a wrench. Remove sealing washers (2) between pulsation damper and pipeline (3) and between the pipeline and the fuel rail and discard them
9. Remove old sealing washers and discard.
10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Install new sealing washers and tighten the pulsation damper to the specified torque specified in Specifications at the beginning of this chapter.
