Warning! Brake pads generate brake dust, which contains asbestos, which is harmful to health, so do not use compressed air or inhale the dust when cleaning brake pads.
Attention! To clean the brake mechanisms, use only a special brake cleaner.
Attention! Be sure to replace the calipers in pairs, even if only one caliper has failed.
Note. If there are brake fluid leaks from the caliper, it is recommended to replace it rather than repair it.
Removing
Apply the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.
Loosen the front wheel nuts. Raise the front of the car and place it on stands. Remove the front wheel.

If the caliper is being removed to access other components, do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Otherwise, remove the hollow bolt securing the brake hose to the caliper (C in fig. 11.14). To prevent leakage of brake fluid, close the opening of the brake hose with a plug or a piece of rubber hose of a suitable diameter (pic. 11.19).
Unscrew the upper and lower caliper mounting bolts, while holding the guide pins from turning with the second key (see fig. 11.14). If the caliper is removed to access other components, use a soft wire to tie it to the A-pillar.
Installation
Install in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
When attaching the brake hose to the caliper, replace the gaskets.
After installation, bleed the hydraulic brake system.
