If you hear a slight hissing sound when removing the cap, this is normal. When closing the threaded cap, make sure that the cap cover fits the recesses of the pipe.
Make sure the cap is properly seated and tightened to prevent fuel from leaking in the event of a collision.
Use only genuine Toyota threaded caps as replacements. They have a built-in vacuum valve.
