Tachometer — checking on the car [Toyota Dyna Y50]

a) Connect the test tachometer and start the engine.

b) compare the readings of the test and on-board tachometers.

If the error in readings is greater than the permissible limit, replace the tachometer.

Instrument cluster and gauges (models with tachometer)

Warning: Reversing the polarity of the tachometer connection will damage the transistors and diodes of the tachometer. Do not drop the tachometer. And do not hit the tachometer.
