2. (Except 3S-GE and 7A-FE) Disconnect the high voltage wires from the distributor cap or from the cover of the complex ignition unit (block contactless ignition system). To do this, pull the spring latch with a screwdriver and disconnect the holder together with the high-voltage wire from the distributor cover, as shown in the figure.
3. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance of each high voltage wire. Maximum resistance: 25 kOhm.
If the resistance is greater than the specified value, check the wire lugs or replace the wires.
Note: for 3S-GE engine. 7A-FE the resistance of the wires is checked together with the cover of the distributor or the complex ignition unit.
4. (Except 3S-GE and 7A-FE) Connect the high voltage wires to the cover of the distributor or the complex electronic ignition unit, as shown in the figure.
Note: make sure that the holder is properly installed on the rubber spacer and distributor cap as shown in the picture.
Make sure the spring clips secure the high voltage wires to the distributor cap.
5. Connect the high voltage wires to the spark plugs, paying attention to the wiring and fixing the wires with clamps, as shown in the figure.
