Removal the fuel pump [Toyota Corona T190]

Parts to be removed when dismantling the pump: 1 - pump bracket assembly, 2 - pump service hatch cover, 3 - rear seat cushion, 4 - pump and fuel level indicator sensor connector, 5 - fuel drain pipe (tightening torque 30 N·m), 6 - fuel return pipe, 7 - gasket.


1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. Remove the rear seat cushion.

3. Remove the service hatch cover.
  • a) (Type A) Loosen 5 screws and remove the service hatch cover.
  • b) (Type B) Disconnect the wiring harness, unscrew the 5 screws and remove the service hatch cover.



4. Remove the fuel pump and fuel level gauge sensor assembly.
  • a) Disconnect the fuel pump and fuel level indicator sensor connector (1), fuel drain pipe (2) and fuel return hose (3).

Note: Remove the fuel filter cap to prevent fuel from leaking.





  • b) Disconnect the fuel return hose from the fuel pump bracket.

5. Disconnect the fuel pump mounting bracket from the fuel tank.
  • a) Unscrew 8 bolts.
  • b) Remove the fuel pump and fuel level indicator sensor assembly together with the gasket.
