All electrical wires on a car are colored. On electrical diagrams, the color of the wires is indicated using abbreviations. The wire can have either a basic color or a color with colored stripes. The following letters are used to designate the wires:
  • S — black
  • G — green
  • L — blue
  • O — orange
  • R — red
  • W — white
  • BR — brown
  • GR— gray
  • LG - light green
  • P — pink
  • V — purple
  • Y — yellow

The wire designation "RG" means, for example, that it is a red wire with a green stripe.

All electrical circuits contain numbers in black circles. They refer to the names of certain parts and have no meaning when studying the electrical circuit.
