The exhaust system consists of a front pipe, an intermediate pipe with a catalyst and a main silencer.
Gasoline engines with aftertreatment systems additionally have a catalytic converter (catalyst), installed, as a rule, in place of the resonator. The oxygen sensor involved in the regulation of CO for optimal combustion in the catalyst is installed on the engine with a displacement of 1.3 liters in the exhaust pipe, and for the engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters on the pipe in front of the catalyst.
The elements of the exhaust system are bolted together and can be replaced individually. Self-locking nuts and seals must be replaced upon reassembly.
When installing a new exhaust system, it is also recommended that all rubber pads and pipe hangers be replaced.
