Removing
Loosen the suction hose clamps from the air filter housing cover.
Remove the vacuum hoses from the suction system and thermal vacuum valve.
Remove retainers and wing nut. Remove air filter cover.
Take out the filter element.
Loosen the screws securing the lower part of the air filter and remove it.
Close the carburetor with a clean cloth.
Caution: Do not allow any objects to fall into the carburetor. This can cause severe engine damage.
Installation
Check for damage to the seal between the carburetor and air filter. Replace gasket if necessary.
Check for damage to the heating hose. Replace hose if necessary.
Reinstall and secure the lower part of the filter. Check the correct position of the gasket between the carburetor and the air filter.
Install filter element.
Install the top filter. Screw on the wing nut. Make sure that the fitting is correctly aligned with the heating hose.
Put on the vacuum hoses.
Put on the suction hose and secure it with a clamp.
