Removing
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Remove the timing belt (see chapter "Gasoline engines 3S-FE, 4S-FE", chapter "timing belt").
3. Remove the alternator assembly and the alternator drive belt tensioner adjuster bar.
4. Remove the intermediate pulley.
5. Remove the inlet pipe of the cooling system.
6. Remove the #1 coolant bypass tube.
7. Remove the coolant pump by unscrewing the 3 mounting bolts and removing the O-rings.
8. Remove the coolant pump cover by unscrewing the 3 mounting bolts.
Installation
1. Install the coolant pump cover.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
2. Install the coolant pump.
A) Install new o-rings.
b) Install the pump by temporarily tightening the mounting bolts.
V) Install the alternator and adjustment bar.
G) Tighten the mounting bolts in the order shown.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
3. Connect the #1 coolant bypass pipe.
- Tightening torque - 10 Nm
4. Install the cooling system inlet.
- Tightening torque - 9 Nm
5. Install the intermediate pulley.
- Tightening torque - 43 Nm
6. Tighten the alternator mounting bolts.
Tightening torques:
- mounting bolts to the bracket - 53 Nm
- pump mounting bolts - 22 Nm
8. Fill in coolant.
9. Check for leaks.
