In all-wheel drive vehicles, the intermediate differential cannot be blocked.
The maximum towing speed is 45 km/h!
The maximum towing distance is 80 km!
When towing long distances, the vehicle must be raised so that the front wheels are off the ground, as the gearbox lubrication is insufficient during towing.
Towing with a special towing vehicle
Attention: Towing can only be done on the rear wheels. When the rear wheels break off and are transported on the front wheels, the forced rotation of the front wheels causes the automatic transmission planetary gear to move faster, which can cause severe damage.
In all-wheel drive vehicles, in addition, the front wheels must rotate freely. Their forced rotation can cause an overload of the intermediate differential. The best way to tow such a vehicle is on a tow trailer with full wheel release, or with the rear wheels supported on a dolly and the front wheels released.
Switch on the ignition to unlock the steering wheel and operate the direction indicators, horn and, if necessary, wipers.
Since the brake booster only works when the engine is running, pressing the brake pedal requires more force.
Note: The engine of an automatic transmission vehicle cannot be started by pushing or towing the vehicle.
