Removal and installation of an oil cooler
When removing and installing the oil cooler, follow the assembly drawings.
Removing the pressure reducing valve
1. Remove the fitting (connecting) tube by unscrewing the nipple bolt and removing both gaskets.
2. Remove the oil filter using a suitable tool.
3. Remove the oil filter bracket with O-ring by unscrewing the nipple bolt as shown.
4. After unscrewing the plug on the oil filter bracket, remove the parts of the pressure reducing valve (gasket, spring and valve).
Checking the pressure reducing valve
Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the valve and slowly lower it into the hole in the bracket. The valve should drop easily under its own weight.
Otherwise, replace the valve or the entire bracket.
Pressure reducing valve assembly
1. Install the relief valve into the oil filter bracket by screwing the plug (M3 = 37 N.m).
2. Install the oil filter bracket using a new O-ring and tightening the nipple (bypass) bolt (M3 = 44 N.m).
3. Install the oil filter (see installation in section "General Inspection and Adjustment Procedures").
4. Install the connecting oil line with new gaskets by turning it as shown in the figure and tightening the nipple bolt (M3 = 29 N.m).
5. Fill the oil system with engine oil (see section '"Maintenance and general inspection and adjustment procedures").
6. Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
