Scheme of inclusion of system elements. 1 - electronic engine and automatic transmission control unit, 2 - electropneumatic valve of the fuel pressure control system, 3 - to the main relay of the fuel injection system.
Checking the fuel pressure control system
1. Check the coolant temperature sensor (see above).
2. Check the fuel pressure control valve.
- A) Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the terminals of the valve connector, making sure there is continuity.
Resistance value (cold):
- 3S-GE: 33-39 ohm
- 5E-FE: 37-44 ohms
If there is no continuity, replace the valve.
- b) Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between each terminal of the valve connector and its body, making sure there is no short to body.
If the ohmmeter registers any resistance other than infinity, replace the valve.
3. Check valve operation.
3S-GE
- A) Make sure air passes through the valve from the port "E" into the hole "G".
- b) Apply battery voltage to the valve terminals. Make sure air is flowing from the port "E" to the filter (port "F").
3S-GE | 5E-FE |
If the valve does not operate as described, replace the valve.
