Removing
1. Contact p.p. 1-18 paragraph 6 and remove the timing chain and crankshaft sprocket.
2. Remove the oil pump drive chain and sprockets: turn the engine 90° (¼ turn) counterclock-wise (from TDC position) so as to bring the crankshaft key to a horizontal position. Then unscrew the bolt and remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner (pic. 14.2, a, b).
Pic. 14.2, a. Move the crankshaft key to the left horizontal position (A). Then align the bolt (IN) and remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner
Pic. 14.2, b. Using a screwdriver, block the lower sprocket, loosen the bolt and remove the drive chain and lower sprocket from the engine
3. Turn out three bolts and disconnect the case of the oil pump from the engine (pic. 14.3). To remove the pump, it may be necessary to insert a screwdriver between the front of the block and the pump housing and pry the pump with it.

4. Use a scraper to remove all traces of sealant and old gasket material from the pump housing and cylinder block, and then clean the mating surfaces with lacquer thinner or acetone.
5. Inspect the oil pump and chain for wear and damage. If the oil pump shows signs of wear or you are in doubt about its condition, it is recommended to replace it. Check the oil pump drive chain for wear or scratches. Replace if necessary. Put a chain on each of the oil pump drive sprockets and measure the diameter of the sprockets against the chain rollers (rice. 6.21b). If the resulting size is less than the prescribed minimum sprocket diameter, the chain and sprockets must be replaced. Oil pump drive chain guide wear is measured from the top plane of the chain contact surface to the base of the wear grooves (rice. 6.22). Also check the oil injector for blockage - a blockage will result in increased wear on the timing chain, oil pump drive chain and guides (pic. 14.5).

Installation
6. Lubricate the pump cavities by pouring a small amount of clean engine oil into the oil pump inlet port and turning the pump by the shaft of a suitable sprocket.
7. Install the oil pump and new gasket on the cylinder block and screw in the appropriate bolts.
8. Tighten the bolts in several stages to the prescribed torque given in Specifications at the beginning of this chapter. To avoid deformation of the housing, work in a cross sequence.
9. Making sure that the crankshaft key is still in the left horizontal position and the flat on the oil pump drive shaft is facing up, install the chain and drive sprockets so that the colored chain links are aligned with the alignment marks on the sprockets (pic. 14.9).

10. Tighten the lower drive sprocket mounting bolt to the specified torque specified in Specifications at the beginning of this chapter.
11. Reinstall the remaining elements, working in the reverse order of removal.
12. Add oil to the correct level and start the engine. Check the correct oil pressure and make sure there are no leaks.
