Removing
Removal in the following order:
- remove the gearbox. Check and, if necessary, replace the front sealing ring of the gearbox;
- mark with a marker or paint the position of the clutch assembly in relation to the flywheel;
- using a special tool or a screwdriver, use the teeth of the flywheel ring gear to block it from turning;
- gradually loosen the clutch assembly mounting bolts diagonally by turning each bolt half a turn until the spring action stops and the bolts can be unscrewed by hand;
- Remove the clutch pressure and driven discs. Check the condition of the clutch;
- mark with a marker or paint the position of the flywheel in relation to the crankshaft;
- using a special tool or a screwdriver, use the teeth of the flywheel ring gear to block it from turning;
Pic. 3.45. Removing the rear adjustment plate on vehicles with automatic transmission
- remove the bolts and, being careful, remove the flywheel/drive plate from the crankshaft. On vehicles with automatic transmission, there are adjustment plates on both sides of the drive plate that must be held together with the drive plate (pic. 3.45).
Installation
On manual transmission models, check the flywheel for wear on the clutch side and the condition of the flywheel ring gear teeth.
If there is wear on the surface of the flywheel in contact with the clutch disc, the flywheel must be reground.
Check the condition of the crankshaft rear O-ring. If there are oil leaks, replace the O-ring.
Position the flywheel/drive plate against the crankshaft and align the marks made before removal. Some engines have a key or holes for mounting the flywheel located at different distances from one another to orient and fix the flywheel. Apply locking compound to the threads of the flywheel/drive plate mounting bolts to prevent them from self-loosening (blocking fluid).
Using a special tool or a screwdriver, block the flywheel from turning by the teeth of the flywheel ring gear and gradually, crosswise tighten the fastening bolts to a torque of 83–88 Nm.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
