Removal the thermostat
1. Drain the coolant (see the relevant paragraph).
2. Remove the water drain pipe by removing the three bolts, the water drain pipe and the gasket from the water drain pipe body.
3. Remove the thermostat.

Checking the thermostat status
Note: The thermostat has a digital characteristic corresponding to the valve opening temperature.
a) Immerse the thermostat in water and gradually heat it.
b) Check the valve opening temperature.
- Valve opening temperature: 86 - 90°C
If the valve opening temperature does not meet the specified limits, replace the thermostat.
c) Check the valve lift.
Valve lift is not less than 10 mm at a temperature of 100°C.
If the valve lift is not within the specified limit, replace the thermostat.

d) Check the valve spring stiffness when the thermostat is fully closed. Replace the thermostat if necessary.
Installing a thermostat
1. Place the thermostat into the water pipe housing.
2. Install the new gasket and water pipe with three bolts.
- Tightening torque - 19 Nm
3. Fill with coolant (see the relevant paragraph).
4. Start the engine and check for leaks.
