a) Orient the "Front" marks on the piston and connecting rod.
b) Apply a layer of engine oil to the piston pin and to the surface of the bore in the piston bosses.
c) Using the tool, press the pin in.
2. Install the piston rings:
a) Install the expander and both oil ring scrapers onto the piston.
b) Using a ring puller, install both compression rings with the code marks facing up.
c) Place the rings on the piston so that their locks are positioned as shown in the figures.

3. Install the connecting rod bearings and connecting rod caps.
Caution: Install bearing shells with oil holes into the connecting rod.
