1. If the rear oil seal housing is removed from the cylinder block:
a) Using a screwdriver and hammer, knock the seal out of the housing.
b) Carefully install the seal; its surface should be flush with the edge of the body.
c) Lubricate the edge of the seal with consistent grease.
2. If the rear oil seal housing is not removed from the cylinder block:
a) Using a knife, cut off the edge of the oil seal as shown in the figure.
b) Use a screwdriver to remove the seal.
Caution: Wrap the end of the screwdriver with a clean cloth to avoid damaging the crankshaft when removing the oil seal.

c) Lubricate the surface of the new seal with consistent grease.
d) Using a socket head or a pipe of suitable diameter and a hammer, install a new oil seal; its surface should be flush with the edge of the body.
