Attention:
- Thoroughly clean all parts prepared for assembly.
- Before installing the parts, lubricate their working surfaces with fresh engine oil.
- Install new gaskets and seals.
1. Install the main bearing shells into the cylinder block (upper liners) and in the main bearing caps (lower liners).
Attention: install the bearings with the oil hole into the block.
2. Install the upper thrust half rings at main bearing No.3, positioning them with the oil grooves facing outward.
3. Place the crankshaft into the cylinder block.
4. Install the main bearing caps and lower thrust half rings.
Please note: each lid is numbered.
a) Install the thrust half rings at the main bearing cap No.3, placing them with the oil grooves facing outward.

b) Install the covers in the correct orientation.

c) Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the threads and heads of the cover bolts.
d) Install and tighten the ten main bearing cap bolts evenly in several passes in the sequence shown.
- Tightening torque - 78 Nm

d) Check the rotation of the crankshaft.
e) Check the crankshaft axial clearance.
5. Install the connecting rod and piston group.
a) Place short hoses on the protruding threaded portions of the connecting rod bolts to prevent damage to the cylinder liners and crankshaft journals.
b) Using a piston ring crimper, install the piston assemblies with the "front" marks facing in the correct direction.

6. Install the connecting rod bearing caps.
a) Match the caps to the connecting rods.
b) Place the connecting rod caps with the marks facing forward.

c) Apply a layer of engine oil to the threads and under the nuts of the connecting rod bolts.
d) Install and tighten the connecting rod bolt nuts sequentially in several passes.
- Tightening torque - 49 Nm
d) Check the ease of turning the crankshaft.
e) Check the axial clearance of the lower connecting rod heads.
7. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer.
- Tightening torque - 12 Nm
8. Install the timing chain housing.
Install a new gasket and secure the timing chain housing with nine bolts and one nut.
- Tightening torque - 18 Nm

9. Install a new gasket and secure the coolant bypass tube.
10. Install the coolant drain cock, having previously lubricated it with sealant.
