Checking and adjusting the clutch pedal travel [Toyota Carina T190]

1. Check the height of the clutch pedal from the floor.

Pedal height from floor:
  • with return mechanism - 158-168 mm
  • without return mechanism - 155-165 mm

2. If necessary, adjust the pedal height. To do this, loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting bolt until the desired clutch pedal height is set. After completing the adjustment, tighten the lock nut.

3. Check the free play of the clutch pedal and the stroke of the rod.

a) Press the clutch pedal until resistance appears.
  • Pedal free travel - 5.0-15.0 mm

b) Slowly press the pedal until the resistance begins to increase slightly.
  • Rod clearance - 1.0-5.0 mm

4. If necessary, adjust the stem clearance and pedal free play.

a) Loosen the lock nut and turn the rod until the required pedal free play and rod clearance are set.

b) Tighten the lock nut.

c) After adjusting the pedal free play, check the pedal height.

d) Connect the air duct and install the lower trim panel.
