Caliper with one working cylinder:
- Standard thickness 12.0mm
- Minimum thickness 1.0 mm
Caliper with two working cylinders:
- Standard thickness 10.0mm
- Minimum thickness 1.0 mm
Replace the brake pads if the thickness of the brake linings is less than the minimum Permissible or uneven wear of the linings is detected.
2. Using a micrometer, measure the thickness of the brake disc.
Caliper with one working cylinder:
- Models up to 96:
- S-series engines:
- Standard thickness 28mm
- Minimum thickness 26 mm
- A and C series engines:
- Standard thickness 25mm
- Minimum thickness 23 mm
- Models since 96:
- Standard thickness 25mm
- Minimum thickness 23 mm
Caliper with two working cylinders:
- Standard thickness 25mm
- Minimum thickness 23 mm
Replace the disc if the disc thickness is less than the minimum allowable.
3. Measure the runout of the brake disc at a distance of 10 mm from the outer edge. Max runout 0.05mm
If the brake disc runout is greater than or equal to the maximum value, check the bearing end play and hub runout.
4. If necessary, adjust disc runout.
- A) Remove the caliper bracket from the steering knuckle.
- b) Loosen the wheel nuts and remove the disc.
- V) Reinstall the disc by turning it 1/5 of a turn from its original position on the hub, and measure the runout of the disc in all installations. Choose the minimum value from those received. Compare it with the maximum allowed.
- G) If the value obtained is less, install the disc in this position, install the caliper bracket and tighten the mounting bolts. Tightening torque 94 Nm.
- d) If the value obtained is greater, replace the disk and repeat the steps "V" And "G").
