Note: there are two methods ("A" And "B") replacement of crankshaft seals.
1. Replace the crankshaft front oil seal.
A. With the oil pump removed from the cylinder block.
- A) Using a screwdriver and hammer, knock out the oil seal as shown.
- b) Using a tube of suitable diameter and a hammer, press in a new oil seal until its surface is flush with the oil pump housing.
- V) Apply grease to the lip of the seal.
B. With the oil pump installed on the cylinder block:
- A) Using a knife, cut off the protruding lip of the oil seal.
- b) Using a screwdriver, after wrapping it with electrical tape, remove the gland.
Note: Do not damage the crankshaft.
- V) Apply grease to the lip of the new oil seal.
- G) Using a suitable tool and a hammer, tap the oil seal until its surface is flush with the lip of the oil pump housing.
2. Replace the crankshaft rear oil seal.
A. Rear oil seal retainer removed from cylinder block.
- A) Using a screwdriver and hammer, knock out the seal.
- b) Using a suitable tool and hammer, drive in the new oil seal until its surface is flush with the lip of the rear oil seal retainer.
- V) Apply grease to the lip of the seal.
B. The rear oil seal holder is mounted on the cylinder block
- A) Cut off the edge of the seal with a knife
- b) screwdriver (pre-wrapped with tape) remove the seal.
Note: Do not damage the crankshaft.
- V) Apply grease to the lip of the new oil seal.
- G) Using a suitable tool and hammer, drive in the new oil seal until its surface is flush with the lip of the rear oil seal retainer.
