Note: There are two methods (A and B) for replacing oil seals.
1. Replace the front crankshaft oil seal.
A. If the oil pump is removed from the cylinder block:
a) Using a screwdriver and a hammer, remove the seal with light blows.
b) Using a pipe of suitable diameter and a hammer, lightly tap the new seal to a depth of 0.5 mm from the edge of the oil pump housing.
c) Apply consistent grease to the seal.
B. If the oil pump is located on the cylinder block:
a) Using a knife, cut off the edge of the seal.
b) Using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the oil seal.
Warning: Be careful not to damage the crankshaft. Wrap the tip of the screwdriver with tape.
c) Apply grease to the lip of the new oil seal.
d) Using a pipe of suitable diameter and a hammer, lightly tap the oil seal to a depth of 0.5 mm from the edge of the oil pump housing.
2. Replace the rear crankshaft oil seal.
A. If the oil seal holder is removed from the cylinder block:
a) Using a screwdriver and a hammer, remove the seal with light blows.
b) Using a pipe of suitable diameter and a hammer, lightly tap the new seal, moving it until its surface is covered by the edge of the rear seal holder.
c) Apply consistent grease to the seal.
B. If the rear oil seal retainer is installed on the cylinder block:
a) Using a knife, cut off the edge of the seal.
b) Using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the oil seal.
Warning: Be careful not to damage the crankshaft. Wrap the tip of the screwdriver with tape.
c) Apply grease to the lip of the new oil seal.
d) Using a pipe of suitable diameter and a hammer, lightly tap the new seal, moving it until its surface is covered by the edge of the rear seal holder.
