The engine of an automatic transmission vehicle must not be started by towing.
1. Make sure that the buffer of the tractor vehicle is at the same height as the buffer of your vehicle, as required for intensive towing. Buffers at different heights may cause one to slide over the other, resulting in injury or an accident.
2. Turn the ignition key to position «ON» and put in second gear.
3. With the clutch pedal depressed, wait until the tractor of your vehicle has reached a speed of about 15 km/h. Keep in mind that the brake pedal requires much more force when the engine is stopped.
4. At a speed of 15 km / h, press the pedal «gas» and lock it about half way and slowly release the clutch pedal, the engine may start.
5. If the engine starts, signal the tractor driver to stop. Simultaneously give «gas» and drive away from the car «tractor», to avoid colliding with it.
Never pull a car to start its engine. If the engine starts, the vehicle may jerk forward unexpectedly and damage the pulling vehicle.
