Checking the Glow Plug Relay #1 (2C)
1. Remove the #1 glow plug relay. The relay is located in the left rear of the engine compartment.
2. Check turnip of Ns1 glow plugs.
A. Check the relay circuit.
- A) Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the leads "G-REL" And "E".
- b) Make sure there is no continuity between the terminals "IN" And "REG+".
If the conductivity is not within specification, replace the relay.
B. Check relay function.
- A) Apply battery voltage to terminals "G-REL" And "E".
- b) Use an ohmmeter to check for continuity between the terminals "IN" And "REG+".
If operation is not as described, replace the relay.
3. Install glow plug relay #1.
Checking the Glow Plug Relay #2 (2C)
1. Remove the #2 glow plug relay. The relay is located in the left rear of the engine compartment.
2. Check glow plug relay #2.
A. Check the continuity of the relay.
- A) Use an ohmmeter to check for continuity between the terminals "d" And "e".
- b) Make sure there is no continuity between the terminals "IN" And "G".
If the conductivity is not within specification, replace the relay.
B. Check relay function.
- A) Apply battery voltage to terminals "d" And "e".
- b) Use an ohmmeter to check for continuity between the terminals "IN" And "G".
If operation is not as described, replace the relay.
Checking the glow plug relay (2S-T)
1. Remove the glow plug relay.
2. Check the glow plug relay.
A. Check the relay circuit.
- A) Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the leads "1" And "2".
