- A) Check the smoothness of the damper actuator.

- 6) Check for vacuum in the channels with the engine running by putting your finger on them while the engine is running warm.

- V) Stop the engine.
2. Check throttle position sensor.
- A) Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
- b) (Models with throttle damper) Disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle opening mechanism and apply vacuum to the mechanism.
- V) Insert a flat feeler gauge 0.50 or 0.70 mm thick (3S-FE, 3S-GE, 4S-FE, 5E-FE); 0.40 or 0.90 mm (4A-FE, 7A-FE) between the throttle stop adjusting screw and the lever.
- d) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the respective terminals of the sensor connector at various throttle positions (see table).

If the resistance value is out of range, adjust or replace the throttle position sensor.
- e) (Models with throttle opening mechanism) Connect the sensor connector.
- 3. (Models with throttle damper) Check the operation of the throttle opening mechanism.
- V) Start and warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
- b) Connect tachometer (see page 23).
- V) Check idle speed. Idling speed: 700+50 rpm.
- G) Disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle valve opening mechanism and plug its end.
- d) Maintain a speed of about 2500 rpm.
- e) Release the throttle
- and) Make sure the engine speed is (set by the throttle opening mechanism) lies within 1200-1800 rpm (with the cooling fan off) Otherwise, adjust the throttle opening mechanism.
- h) Adjust the speed of the throttle opening mechanism by turning the mechanism adjusting screw.
Rated speed (with the cooling fan off): 1400 rpm
- And) Connect the vacuum hose back.
- 4. Disconnect the tachometer.
- 5 (5E-FE) Check the operation of the air valve.
- A) Make sure that air passes without resistance from "IN" V "A".
- b) Make sure that the air passes with difficulty from "A" V "IN".
If a malfunction is found, replace the air valve.
Note: do not mix up the connection point of the electro-pneumatic valve.
