Parts for removal and installation: 1 - throttle cable, 2 - vacuum hose, 3 - automatic transmission control cable, 4 - gasket, 5 - throttle position sensor connector, 6 - idle speed control valve connector, 7 - air hose, 8 - bypass hose coolant, B - exhaust gas recirculation hose, 10 - throttle body
1. Disconnect (-) wire from the negative battery terminal.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. (4A-FE, 7A-FE) Disconnect the air filter hose.
4. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor from the air filter cover.
5. (3S-FE, 3S-GE. 4S-FE, 5E-FE) Remove the air filter cover and air duct.
6. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body.
7. (Models with automatic transmission) Disconnect the throttle cable from the actuator mechanism.
Note: mark the position of the adjusting nuts, otherwise, if the position is incorrect, the automatic transmission will shift gears at different speeds.
8. Remove the throttle body by disconnecting the body from the intake manifold.
- A) Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
- b) (Except 5E-FE) Disconnect the idle speed control valve connector.
- V) Disconnect the following hoses from the throttle body:
- vacuum hose (1) (models with a fuel vapor recovery system;
- (Only 3S-FE, 4S-FE) vacuum hoses (2) (models with exhaust gas recirculation)
- crankcase breather hose (3).
- (Only 3S-GE) Coolant bypass hoses (4).
- (4A-FE, 7A-FE) Air hose.
Note: It is easy to mix up the hoses when connecting, so mark the hoses before removing them.
- e) (Type A) Remove four bolts. (Type B) Remove 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
- and) Disconnect the throttle body from the intake manifold and remove the gasket.
- And) (3S-FE, 4S-FE, 5E-FE) Disconnect the following hoses from the throttle body:
- Coolant bypass hoses (1),
- air hose (2);
- (5E-FE) Air hose from air control valve (3).
