Note: Do not clean the throttle position sensor to avoid damaging it.
2. Check the throttle.
- A) (Models with throttle opening mechanism) Disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle opening mechanism and apply vacuum to the mechanism, and after checking, reconnect the hose.
- b) Check that there is no play between the throttle stop adjusting screw and the throttle lever when the throttle is fully closed.
3. Check Throttle Position Sensor (see "Vehicle checks").
4. If necessary, adjust the throttle position sensor.
- A) Loosen the two screws securing the sensor housing.
- b) (Models with throttle damper) Apply vacuum to the throttle opening mechanism.
- V) Insert a flat feeler gauge 0.60 mm thick (3S-FE, 3S-GE, 4S-FE, 5E-FE); 0.70 mm (4A-FE, 7A-FE) between the adjusting screw and the throttle lever.
- G) Connect ohmmeter probes to terminals "IDL" And "E2" sensor connector.
- d) By smoothly turning the sensor body clockwise, find its position, when the ohmmeter changes its readings, Fix the sensor body in this position with two screws.
- e) Recheck continuity between terminals "IDL" And "E2", placing a flat feeler gauge 0.50 or 0.70 mm thick between the adjusting screw and the throttle lever (3S-FE, 3S-GE. 4S-FE, 5E-FE); 0.60 or 0.90 mm (4A-FE, 7A-FE).
Gap between lever and adjusting screw, mm | Conductivity between terminals "IDL" - "E2" |
0,50 (0,60) | Conductivity |
0,70 (0,90) | No Conductivity |
- and) (Models with throttle damper) Connect the throttle valve vacuum hose to the throttle body.
