On FJ60 cars, which were produced in 1980-1987, the 2F engine was installed. 3F-E engines were installed on FJ62 vehicles (1988-1990). Cars of the FJ80 series were produced from 1989 to 1997 and were equipped with 1FZ-FE twin-shaft overhead valve engines.
Engine 2F carburetor, valve actuation is provided by rods connected to pushers ("pushrod" - engine). The 3F-E and 1FZ-FE engines are injection, the valve drive is the same as in the 2F engine. All cars are all-wheel drive, the main drive axle is rear. Front drive (rear) wheels is provided through the transfer case and gearbox. Cars have dependent suspensions, front and rear axles are made in the form of bridges. The elastic elements of both suspensions are springs (FJ60, FJ62) or springs with shock absorbers (FJ80).
The steering gearbox is mounted to the left of the engine and is connected to the wheels by levers and rods. All vehicles are equipped with power steering.
Brakes disc or drum, equipped with a vacuum booster.
Vehicle identification numbers
When compiling instruction manuals and spare parts catalogs, the numerical codes of the vehicle are used, therefore, when selecting and installing the necessary parts, it is necessary to know the identification (identification) car number.
An identification number
The identification number is used when registering the vehicle.
Plate with car number (VIN number) attached to the windshield on the driver's side. The plate shows the date of manufacture, the year of this model and the type of body.
Engine number
On 2F and 3F-E engines, the number is stamped on the right side of the cylinder block.
On 1FZ-FE engines, the number is stamped on the left side of the block.
Factory certificate
The certification plate is affixed to the pillar of the front door opening. The plate shows the month and year of manufacture, the manufacturer, barcodes, the statement of the vehicle's serviceability and the total weight of the vehicle.
Emission Control System and Vacuum Hose Wiring Diagram (VECI label)
Reinforced on the inside of the hood. Contains emission control system and adjustment data.
