Keys for a car not equipped with an immobilizer

Cars equipped with a system of increased security of access to the trunk

The master key fits every lock.

The spare key does not fit the trunk lock.

To protect items locked in the trunk, leave a spare key with an accompanying person when parking the vehicle.

Always keep a duplicate of your main key with you in case the keys become locked inside the vehicle when the doors or trunk lid are slammed.

Cars without a system of increased security access to the trunk

The key fits all locks.

Always keep a spare key with you in case your main set of keys accidentally become locked inside the vehicle when the doors and trunk lid are slammed.

Keep the key serial number tag in a safe place (for example in a wallet), it is not allowed to keep the tag in the car.

If you suddenly lose your keys or need a duplicate, they can be made at the Toyota car service center using the number on the tag.

You can also include a copy of the key number with your own documents.

Keys for a car equipped with an immobilizer

The car comes with two keys.

Master Key (black color) fits all locks. This key is required by the Toyota service center to make a new key with a built-in radio beacon chip (transponder).

Spare key (gray color) fits all locks except trunk lid lock.

The heads of the main and spare keys have a built-in radio beacon chip (transponder), from which the lock is triggered. Therefore, do not lose the keys under any circumstances. If you make your own duplicate, you will not be able to trigger the security system or start the engine.

To protect items locked in the trunk, leave a spare key with an accompanying person when parking the vehicle.

Always keep a duplicate of your main key with you in case the keys become locked inside the vehicle when the doors or trunk lid are slammed.

Precautions for using keys with built-in microchip

When starting the engine, do not allow the key ring to be on the head, do not turn the key by the ring, and do not press the ring on the key head. Otherwise, the engine may not start, or stall after starting.

When starting the engine, the keys with the built-in microcircuit must not touch each other (and also with keys from another car). Do not press other keys flat against the head of the key in the ignition switch. Otherwise, the engine may not start or may stall after starting.

Do not bend the key head.

Do not cover the key head with materials that reflect electromagnetic waves.

Do not expose the key to collision with other objects.

Do not expose the key to high temperatures for long periods of time, such as direct sunlight when the key is on the dashboard or hood.

Do not allow the key to come into contact with water or wash it in an ultrasonic cleaning system.

It is not permitted to use the key together with materials that have pronounced electromagnetic properties.
