Central locking and power windows. 1 - fuse box (circuit breakers "POWER and "DOOR"); 2 - central locking switch; 4 - window glass drive electric motor; 5 - electric drive of the door lock; 6 - electric drive of the tailgate lock; 7 - door lock control relay; 8 - electric lock drive and central locking switch (driver's door); 9 - main switch.
Checking switches
1. Checking the circuits of the main switch.
A) Check the conductivity of the main switch circuits according to the table.
b) Replace the main switch if the continuity of the circuits is broken.
2. Check backlight/main switch operation (on the armrest).
A) Set the power window lock switch to position "not blocked" (button released).
b) Connect the battery to the main switch connector terminals (see table). The backlight of all switches should be lit.
V) Set the power window lock switch to position "blocked" (button pressed): The local power window switches should turn off.
G) Replace the main switch if it does not work as specified.
Main switch circuit test tables (short wheelbase models).
Type 1 (upholstery):
Type 2 (on the armrest):
Power Window Master Switch Circuit Test Table (long wheelbase models).
3. Checking the intermittent power supply circuit of the main switch (on the armrest).
A) Disconnect the connector from the main switch.
b) Connect "plus" ammeter to the connector terminal on the wire side (see table) And "minus" ammeter to "minus" battery.
V) Connect "plus" battery to the connector terminal on the wire side (see table).
G) Check that when the glass starts to fall, the current should be about 7 A.
d) Check that when the glass reaches the bottom point, the current rises to 14.5A or more.
Note: The thermal fuse is activated 4-40 seconds after the windows are fully lowered, measure up to this point.
e) Replace the main switch if it does not work as specified.
4. Checking the local power window switch (passenger door).
A) Check the conductivity of the switch according to the table.
Type 1 (upholstery):
Type 2 (on the armrest):
b) Replace the switch if it does not work as specified.
Checking the electric motor
1. Checking the operation of the power window drive motor.
A) Connect the battery to terminals 1 (+) and 2 (-). The left door motor must rotate clockwise and the right door motor must rotate counterclockwise.
b) Reverse the polarity of the battery connection. The direction of rotation of the motor should be reversed.
V) Replace the motor if it does not operate as specified.
2. Checking the thermal fuse of the power window motor.
A) With the window fully closed, hold the switch to the "UP" (up) and check that the thermal fuse blows within 4-40 seconds.
b) With the window fully closed, hold the switch to the "DOWN" (down) and check that the delay before the window starts to go down is about 60 seconds.
V) Replace the motor if it does not operate as specified.
Checking the Automatic Power Window Relay
Type 1 (upholstery switch)
1. Disconnect the connector from the relay.
2. Check the connector on the wire side according to the table.
3. If the circuit works as indicated in the table, then replace the relay.
