Note: There are two methods (A and B) to replace the oil seal, described below.
A. If the camshaft oil seal retainer is removed:
a) Using a screwdriver and a hammer, knock out the seal with light blows.
b) Using a pipe of suitable size and a hammer, lightly tap the new seal until its working surface is covered by the edge of the seal holder.
c) Apply grease to the sealing lip of the oil seal.
B. If the camshaft oil seal retainer is installed on the cylinder head:
a) Using a knife, cut off the edge of the seal.

b) Using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the seal.
Warning: Be careful not to damage the camshaft. Wrap the screwdriver tip with tape.
c) Apply grease to the sealing lip of the new oil seal.
d) Using a pipe of suitable size and a hammer, lightly tap the gland until its working surface is covered by the edge of the gland holder.
