Checking the electric fan [Toyota Carina T190]

Note: Depending on the design, two electric fans may be installed.


1. Disconnect the electric fan connectors.

2. Check the electric fan.

a) Connect the battery and ammeter to the electric fan connector.

b) Check that the fan rotates smoothly and read the ammeter.



Series A, 3S-FE, 4S-FE

After making sure the fan rotates freely, take the ammeter reading.

Nominal current:

Series A, 3S-FE, 4S-FE - less than 10A
2C:
  • Manual transmission - 5.7-7.7 A
  • Automatic transmission - 8.0-10.1 A
