The thermometer shows the temperature of the engine coolant when the ignition is on. Engine operating temperature varies with weather conditions and load.
The engine may overheat under the following operating conditions:
- 1. Trip in the mountains on a very hot day
- 2. Reduce speed or stop after driving at high speed for a long time.
- 3. Continuous idling or driving in street «traffic jams» with the air conditioner on.
- 4. Trailer towing.
- 5. Slow driving in high gear.
Under no circumstances remove the thermostat of the cooling system, as this may lead to overheating of the engine. The thermostat is adjusted so that by adjusting the circulation of the coolant to maintain the temperature of the engine in a given area.
Do not continue driving if the engine becomes too hot. See also the corresponding section of the Instructions.
