The carburetor is checked and adjusted at the manufacturing plant. The carburetor is not subject to subsequent adjustment. Increased fuel consumption and insufficient engine power are usually the result of, not incorrect carburetor adjustment, but, for example, driving style and vehicle operating conditions. Therefore, carburetor adjustment usually comes down to adjusting idle speed and carbon monoxide (CO) concentration. Correct idle speed adjustment ensures good engine response up to the medium engine speed range.

Note: The exhaust gas composition adjustment screw is covered with a protective cap, which can be removed with pliers or a screwdriver.

Sometimes this can be done differently by screwing a 2 mm screw into the cap and then pulling the screw out together with the cap. The protective cap is destroyed. After adjustment, the adjusting screw must be covered with a new cap (should be in the spare parts kit). If the carburetor has an adjusting screw with a protective head, then a special key TOYOTA ET No. SST 09243-00020 is required to adjust the composition of the exhaust gases.

caution: When working with the carburetor, it is necessary observe the rules of cleanliness.
