1.3L engine up to 7/84, 1.3L with catalytic converter and 1.6L
The engine start aid should be checked in case of difficulty starting a cold engine and poor throttle response.
Examination
Test conditions: The motor must be cooled down to at least room temperature.
Remove air filter.
Disconnect the plug connection of the device.
Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the connecting terminal of the device (red wire) and weight (on the body).
Resistance value for an engine with a displacement of 1.3 liters with a catalyst: 17-19 ohms.
For an engine with a working volume of 1.3 liters and 1.6 liters: 19-24 ohms.
Start the engine at idle.
Check if the housing of the automatic starter is heating up. Simultaneously launcher (aerial) damper should open slowly.
If the resistance value does not meet the required value, the device case does not heat up, the device should be replaced.
Install the air filter.
Removing
Remove air filter.
Disconnect the plug connection of the automatic starter.
Unscrew the three screws and remove the base plate, bimetal spring and gasket.
Installation
Install a new body seal.
Install the body of the device in such a way that the bimetallic spring enters the starting damper lever.
Install the base plate and press it with 3 bolts.
Align the center line of the scale on the carburetor body with the markings on the starter housing. Tighten the fixing bolts.
Connect the plug connection of the device.
Install the air filter.
