Removal
Remove the upper radiator shroud.
Drain the coolant.
Disconnect coolant bypass hose #1, coolant bypass hose #2 and breather hose.

Remove 2 bolts and remove the expansion tank assembly (fig. 2.398).
Disconnect the radiator outlet hose.

Remove 2 bolts, coolant inlet pipe and gasket (fig. 2.399).
Installation
Install a new gasket on the thermostat.
Install the thermostat with the outlet valve facing up.

Note: The outlet valve can be installed with a deviation from the prescribed position by an angle of up to 10° in either direction (fig. 2.400).
Install the remaining components in the reverse order of removal.
